How Your School Can Participate

PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERACTIONS WITHOUT BOARDERS PROJECT.

The Interactions Without Boarders is a triannual periodical made for students by students with students. Therefore, the magazine features only students’ opinions, experiences, articles and creative pieces. There are three (3) levels of participation in the IWB project as follows:
1. Interview with students At this level, some schools will be selected from across the country, ensuring that the selected schools are representative of all regions and cultures, as much as possible. Our officers will then make appointments with the head / principal or any authorized official of each selected school, to visit and interview three (3) selected students on three (3) selected topics. Each selected student will comment on one (1) topic in writing. Our officers will then collect the written opinions and take pictures of the students. This school official is welcome to supervise this process. However, we request that the students should not be intimidated or their writings influenced.
2 Display of individual talents / creativity by students Prior to the visit of our officers to the school, we encourage that schools should collect individual creative pieces done by students, to be handed over to our officers when they are in the school. These creative pieces could be articles on any topic, poems, riddles or jokes. It could also be a piece of art or innovation of any kind that a student has developed from his or her own initiative. The best of these creative pieces will be published in subsequent editions of the magazine.
3. Coverage of special events / activities / programs Schools that subscribe to the magazine also have the opportunity to get their special events featured in the IWB magazine. These events include, but are not limited to, speech and prizegiving days; special entertainment or educative programs and even sporting activities. The idea is to let the public, including parents and guardians, know the quality of care, beyond classroom pedagogy, that your students receive. ADDITIONAL BENEFITS FOR SCHOOLS THAT SUBSCRIBE TO THE IWB PROJECT

1. To be featured in the project, and to qualify for all the additional benefits, schools have to complete the attached subscription form and return a copy to Advocate For Youth
2. Please DO NOT pay any money to any officer for any service. We are a non-profit organization who’s ONLY interest is to create opportunities for empowering in-school adolescents. All our services are FREE of charge, except the subsidized price of the magazine ASSURANCE OF CHILD PROTECTION We are qualified experts in Adolescent Health and Youth Empowerment, with almost 20 years of experience in empowering this demographic group across Africa. We are trusted for ensuring that every information we put out is wholesome and supportive of the education, health and wellbeing of students. Our experts ensure that written student views are edited to meet the highest standards. We understand the need to be responsible in our discussions and dealings with students, and not interview students on any topics until the school authorities approve those topics. Similarly, we will not publish the final version of the magazine until the school authorities are satisfied with articles written by their students. We have also segmented the audience for this project by separating them. This is why we have the senior version (for ‘O’ and ‘A’ level as well as SHS students) and the junior version (for JHS level students). We therefore assure the highest standards of child protection in all forms.
